When you came and stay in our fantastic beachfront accommodation in Omapere, you have access to all that the Hokianga Harbour has to offer.

Direct access to beach for leisurely walks to South Head, Arai Te Uru, restaurants, bars, shops, Information site, museum, artists and swimming opportunities at your doorstep. Waipoua forest and Tane Mahuta only 20 minutes by car. A side trip and walk to the Waiotemarama waterfall and Labyrinth craft shop can be had enroute. Cultural and Historical Activities

Seeped in Maori and settler history a visit to the local museum will be rewarding through exploring rich historical archive and artefacts on display there. The unique environments of the Waipoua and Trounson forests provide an unforgettable encounter with some of the largest remaining Kauri trees in the world including Tane Mahuta.

You can take the drive out to Motuti marae then through Punguru resting place of Whaea Whina Cooper to Mitimti on the west coast the turanga waewae of renowned Ralph Hotere. The Wairere Boulders are a little further afield as is the Historic Mangungu Mission House and Horeke pub, one of the oldest in Aotearoa.

Sand boarding , paddle boarding ,kayaking, fishing, swimming, snorkelling, cruising, hiking including the Arai Te Uru Heritage walk are all at your doorstep .In Addition you can drive to the Koutu Boulders, the historic villages of Rawene or Kohukohu both of which have wonderful art galleries, and from Kohukohu
